Things to consider

Here’s some important things to think about:

Is there a God?

Creation is proof that there is a Creator. Everything made has a maker. Thats why the bible says, “The fool has said in his heart there is no God.” (FYI: God dwells outside of the dimension of time–in “eternity,” and has neither beginning nor end). If you were walking along and found a cell phone lying on the ground, you would deduce that someone had designed it, not that it came about by itself. Are not humans and creation infinitely more complex than a cell phone?

Creation aside – what makes cold-blooded murder wrong, and why should child pornography be opposed? Why is there an innate sense of right and wrong in us? The Bible says that God has written His law on our hearts so that we are without excuse. (Rom 2:15)

Does God care about right and wrong?
Yes. If a judge in court turns a “blind eye” to a crime syndicate/murderer/rapist/criminal, then he is corrupt, and should be brought to justice himself. If God turns a blind eye to a man who rapes a woman then slits her throat, He’s corrupt. The Bible tells us the opposite. It warns that God is so good, He will not only punish murderers and rapists, but thieves and liars. He will punish all sin, right down to every idle word that men speak.

Are God’s standards the same as ours?
No. God’s standards are much higher than ours. Jesus said, “Whosoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart.” We are also told, “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer.

Will God punish sin?
Yes. He will “bring every work to judgment, including every secret thing, whether it is good or evil.”
Hell is God’s place of punishment for those who have violated His Law. Don’t be fooled – sin is no small matter – it is a personal affront to an infinitely pure God. Sin is exceedingly ugly, and though its rewards may seem attractive at present, you may find sin’s real consequences when its too late.

Do you avoid Hell by living a good life?
Lets see if you have lived a good life: Have you ever told a lie? Telling a lie makes you a liar. Have you ever stolen anything? If so, that makes you a thief. Have you ever looked with lust? Then you have committed adultery in your heart and are an adulterer. Have you loved God above everything else? Have you made a ‘god’ to suit yourself (having your own beliefs about God, or those which do not come from the Bible eg. Atheism, Islam, Hinduism etc). Have you used God’s name to swear, kept the Sabbath holy, honoured your parents, or been greedy?

Judge yourself – have you broken the ten commandments? Knowing that God knows your thought-life, and every deed done in darkness, will you be innocent or guilty on Judgment Day? Know you that you will be guilty. You cannot meet God’s standard – you are sin-bent, meaning even the most noble of actions will always be tainted with sin. So, will you end up in Heaven or Hell? (Dont say “there is no Hell” – the Bible is clear about Hell! What if you are wrong?)

The Bible warns, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is the way of death.

The only thing you can do do be saved from His wrath is to repent (tell God that you are a vile sinner who deserves His punishment for the sins you have committed) and put your faith in the sacrifice of Christ, the saviour of all those who obey Him. This is the good news of the gospel! He paid the price for sin, and then He rose from the dead, defeating death. To have peace with God, pray that He would forgive you for your sins against Him, and ask Him to wash you in the blood of Christ. God will look on Christ’s righteousness and purity as if it was yours! “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” – John 6:37

To my friends who may read this one day, I pray that God will work in your life to show you who He really is! Anytime you want to talk to me about getting right with God, I will be more than happy to make time and show you the truth.

Don’t waste your life!
